So, July 21st was the beginning of a very busy vacation. Every 3 years, my family travels up to Cannon Beach for a wonderful, beach stay for a week and a half. My personal family went up early to spend time with my mom's friend and her family. We went kayaking and paddle boarding together... We went into Portland and rode awesome little carts/bike things. After that we walked around forever until we found a place to eat... However- we were the only kids and spilled 2 waters (one spilled on me) and laughed so hard I think they were about to kick us out. So, yeah, that was Portland. We also went to a farmer's market. And we also had a dance party- lot's o' fun! Both families have kids about the same age- so it was cool to hang out with friends from another state- and see what middle school was like for them!
Eventually, we made it to the beach! The beach is so beautiful there- Haystack Rock was also not far away- it was sometimes misted along the bottom and looked haunted and fake. Our beach time was filled up with- going to tidepools- playing baseball, ultimate Frisbee- and flag football (I didn't participate in that crazy game). The water was freezing, but nonetheless we still spent a lot of time there... We went into town and after waiting 3 years, we were able to go to a little candy store that has the best salt water taffy EVER! we got giant lollipops too! From town, I got a charm, anklet, and crepe. One day, we rode on little bikes (pic below) across the beach and it was long, hard, and super fun! My cousin and I also spent a lot of time taking pictures of flowers- of course on my brand new camera. We were sad to leave the beautiful place- but I was happy to know that I had Girl's Camp next!
Girl's Camp was way fun and very spiritual... I loved every minute of it and made a ton of new friends... Kind of a change though- We were now in the mountains where it was cold... I love the beach a lot more!
